Impressions of the E.A.T(experiments in art and technology )

                                  E.A.T(experiments in art and technology)
E.A.T's interdisciplinary program extends the artist's interaction to the new field of society. This event provides artists with access to new technologies, and the combination of art and technology encourages industry and technology to participate in each other.

What attracts me most is the project of Pepsi-Cola Pavilion.

The exterior of the building is a dense fog covering the futuristic pavilion and its grid dome. The idea of David Thomas is similar to imploded dome, other artists decided to cover it with fog.
Fujiko Nakaya in charge of fog she chose to cover futuristic venues and their grid tops in dense fog, a technical challenge she overcame with the help of us atmospheric physicist Thomas Mee. The pair set up a system of 2,500 specially designed injectors that can spray more than 40,000 litres of water per hour, removing the venue from the white fog.

I think Pepsi-Cola Pavilion after overcoming technical problems, it was wonderful. In such a futuristic arena, there are constantly changing fogs, or showing or fading away. The description of the unknown natural world and the distant echo of charm.Visitors can walk through it and experience likes the power and beauty of nature.
The huge dome mirror reflector and the unique setting of space can give the audience extraordinary sensory experience.Mirror reflection is a very mysterious thing, it is not only the characteristics of the material itself, but also can reflect the surrounding image, making the work and the external environment into one, and even make the work with the external environment changes in the nature of the work become colorful, so that the audience on the same work to produce different visual and spiritual feelings.

                                    Robert Rauschenberg, Open Score

Performance presented as part of 9 Evenings: Theatre and Engineering

Another thing that interests me is a tennis racket. It is installed on tennis racket Induction equipment,

when tennis hits the racket, the sound. It will be transferred to another device to change the course lights.Flashing or switching of light. Every shot, A light goes out, they play a game together, until it's completely dark, the racket can send a signal to the FM radio, the FM radio sends a signal to the wire, the wire to the speaker, until the whole field goes out, and In the darkness there is an infrared device that can sense the simple action of any one of us, but where you can't see it .
When I saw it, it was interesting to me.it's such a wonderful performance that half a century ago, with the artist's creativity, theatre, performance, behavioral interaction,I can see traces of it in many exhibitions today. It was a great way to connect the audience with the work, as if I were on the court, listening to the tennis beat in my heart, the lights closed one by one, until the darkness... It gave me a new feeling, where they were looking at the audience, and so on. A public space, so that the location of the audience is very delicate.

They also have many plans and projects,is a perfect combination of art and technology, by dancers, scientists, artists.and so closely combined to form a rich and not easily defined exhibition. This exhibition shows me how artists and engineers in the 1960s worked together to make technology and art perfect. In an era when technology and art are still evolving, I think there will be more works, and art will be a catalyst for Industry and technology to participate in each other. E.A.T. works to develop effective collaboration between artists and engineers through industrial collaboration.
